昨年末に共同通信社・北九州分室より取材のご依頼があり、お引き受けしました。先日その取材内容が紙面およびウェブ記事として掲載されたと聞きましたのでご報告します。この度の取材には当オフィス利用者様、そのご家族様にもご協力をいただくことができ、心理学的治療・支援を受けるお立場で率直なご意見もお伝えいただいています。機会がございましたらご一読ください。
「性犯罪加害者の更生支援について」の取材において、「性犯罪をなくすには、
私達は誰もが、被害者にも加害者にもなり得る。加害者へ反省を強いる感情論は効果を持たないことは周知の事実。社会から被害も加害も減らすためには、身についてしまった誤った学習を望ましい学習へと置き換えていくアプローチが効果を持つ。誤った学習を加害者個人だけの問題にしてしまわず社会全体の問題として捉えると、支援がより身近なものとして提供され、手にしやすい社会へと近づいていくのではないだろうか。私見であり、経験から抱く問題意識です。
性犯罪などの問題行為の再犯を防ぐことは決して容易なことではありません。しかし、適切な自己管理を継続することは可能です。そのためには一定期間の心理学的治療・支援を受けて、自己管理のコツを習得していただくことが望まれます。社会における治療・支援機関の一つとして、やめたいけれどやめられない行為で悩んでいる方とその家族のお役に立てるよう、今後も対応を継続してまいります。

At the end of last year, we received a request for an interview from the Kitakyushu branch of Kyodo News, and accepted. We recently heard that the contents of that interview were published in print and as an online article, so we would like to report on this. We were able to receive cooperation from our office users and their families in this interview, and they shared their honest opinions as recipients of psychological treatment and support. Please take a look if you have the opportunity.
In an interview about "supporting the rehabilitation of sexual offenders," we received questions from reporters who were concerned about the issue, such as, "I believe that in order to eliminate sexual crimes, it is important to detect sex addiction and abnormal sexual preferences early and prevent them by connecting them to treatment, but what is necessary for both the offender and those around them to achieve this?" In response, we shared what we have learned and felt from our experiences to date.
We can all be victims or perpetrators. It is a well-known fact that emotional arguments that force perpetrators to repent are ineffective. In order to reduce both victimization and perpetration in society, an effective approach is to replace the erroneous learning that has been acquired with desirable learning. If we view incorrect learning as a problem for society as a whole, rather than just the problem of individual perpetrators, perhaps we can move closer to a society in which support is more readily available and accessible. This is my personal opinion, and a concern I have based on experience.
It is by no means easy to prevent recidivism in problematic behaviors such as sexual crimes. However, it is possible to continue appropriate self-management. To do so, it is desirable to receive psychological treatment and support for a certain period of time and acquire the skills of self-management. As one of the treatment and support organizations in society, we will continue to respond in order to be of help to those who want to stop but are unable to stop, and their families.
